After shooting RJ & Nikki’s stop motion prenup, we thought that we just have to ask this lovely couple about their love story and details about their Dumaguete wedding. Their love and affection for each other is very evident in the pictures – it was simply very beautiful. (If you don’t know what we are talking about, check out their stop-motion prenup here.)
On the night of their wedding day, we found Nikki online on Facebook. We messaged her to go to sleep! It’s going to be you big day already. Since she was unable to sleep we got the chance to fish out some juicy details about their love story and she was very willing to answer for us.
They first met in Oct, 2011, at Nikki’s resto. RJ was introduced to Nikki by her good friend Kaye. Nikki found it funny since RJ came unannounced bringing pasalubong of Napoleones from Bacolod. After 6 months of knowing each other Nikki said, “I knew he was the one the moment I said I love him too and saw how he loves my Jesus more than myself and since then I fall in love with him more and more each day.”
So we asked Nikki how did RJ proposed. She answered “There was no proposal actually but we have talked about settling down this year since last year. It was realized when my Aunt asked about it and I just answered maybe in July. From there she told everyone and you know the rest of the story, lol”. Nikki said that RJ wasn’t nervous when she told her about getting married. RJ without hesitation said ‘Yes!”
When asked about what they love about each other, she said “The one thing that we love about each other the most is seeing Christ in each one. We both know who Jesus is in our lives and by God’s grace, we hold on to His teachings in everything.”
They were looking forward to letting others know about Christ and that they will see the love of Christ in them. They wanted their guests to desire a love like theirs too when Christ is first in everything and He is worth it.
Knowing Nikki as the very artistic, crafty, DIY kind of bride we were excited on how she envisioned her wedding day to be. So we jumped into the themes, styles, motifs that she wanted for their big day.
She chose the rustic/shabby & chic theme. She always imagined it to look beautifully in the garden since the first plan is supposedly a garden wedding. “I love to make trinkets and planning my wedding is as enjoyable as it is stressful,” Nikki answered when we asked here about what inspired her on the decor. “I should have prepared everything months/ weeks ago. That way we don’t have to cram” She added.
Our conversation ended there. We had to let her sleep that night for we didn’t want to be the reason she was sleepless the night of her wedding.
Morning came and it was their wedding day. We met with our radiant bride Nikki and cool groom RJ – ready for the day’s big event.
Everything fell according to plan and everything was blissful and full of love.
So here is the Same-Day-Slideshow and the photos from their Dumaguete wedding. Enjoy!
